FTP (short for File Transfer Protocol), is the most famous method of transmitting files to a hosting account. With an FTP client application that is installed on your desktop computer or laptop, you can make a connection to your website hosting server and copy all the files that you want with several clicks of the mouse. This is done via an easy-to-navigate graphical interface and it is as easy as dragging and dropping the abovementioned files. The advantage of using File Transfer Protocol is that you’ll be able to create separate accounts, each one with a different level of access to your server space, so if you want to give someone access, for instance – a designer, they’ll be able to access only a specific directory and will not be able to see the rest of your web content or any other info, such as private details. Three things are required in order to be able to establish an FTP connection – a hostname, which is normally a domain or an IP address, a user name and a password.

FTP Accounts in Hosting

You will be able to create as many FTP accounts as you want with any of the hosting plans offered by our company, since we’ve decided not to limit this functionality. Thus, you can run multiple sites at once or give other people access to multiple directories. As soon as a certain job has been fulfilled and you don’t want that individual to be able to connect to your website files any longer, you can change the password for the specific FTP account or you can simply remove the account with a few mouse clicks and quit worrying about anybody using it again. The Hepsia hosting Control Panel, which is included with all web hosting accounts, will permit you to see the complete list of the existing FTP accounts listed in alphabetical order. It takes only one single click to administer different options for any of them – to modify the password or the access path, to download an auto-configuration file, etc.

FTP Accounts in Semi-dedicated Servers

If you host your websites under a semi-dedicated server account, you’ll be able to set up a different FTP account for each of them, since we have not set a restriction on this feature with any of our plans. You can do this through the FTP section of our simple-to-navigate Hepsia hosting Control Panel where you can also view the complete list of all the FTP accounts that you’ve set up, together with the folder that each one can access. If needed, you will be able to modify the password for a given account or to modify its access path with several clicks. You can also delete an account with no effort in case you don’t require it anymore – for example, if you’ve hired a web designer who is finished with the site and you do not want them to be able to connect to your files any longer. FTP Accounts in VPS Servers

The VPS server packages offered by us will allow you to set up unlimited FTP accounts to administer the content of your sites. This is valid irrespective of which package you order and which hosting Control Panel you choose during the signup process – cPanel or Hepsia. In all cases, you’ll be granted FTP access to the virtual machine without the need to install any software, as an FTP server is an integral part of the standard software stack that comes with the VPS packages by default. You can set up one FTP account for each domain or sub-domain that you’ve registered or even several FTP accounts for a single directory – if you want a number of persons to access the content in it with their very own personal log-in details. With each of the Control Panels, creating, removing or editing an FTP account will require no more than a few clicks of the mouse via a user-friendly web-based interface.
